the challenge

The Neurology Unit of the University of Cape Town sought to develop an online course on clinical neurophysiology to improve competency in the basic principles, practice and interpretation of electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies in Southern Africa.

the Hubble Studios intervention

In 2016, Hubble Studios partnered with EEG online to create an intensive, part-time, 6-month programme that was aimed at assisting specialist neurologists and neurologists in training with the analysis and interpretation of brain waveforms (electroencephalography), as well as a custom LMS to host the course.

the results

The course transformed the nature of electroencephalography training in both developed and resource-constrained environments, as well as geographic regions far beyond the reach of the physical training environment, while ensuring that the material was comprehensive and engaging.
